Origin Details

Some coffees impress with intensity. Others win you over with balance and elegance.

This lot from Gogogu, Uraga showcases why Guji has become one of Ethiopia's most celebrated coffee-growing regions. Grown at elevations of up to 2,280 masl and dried slowly under shade, this coffee delivers vibrant fruit character, layered sweetness, and delicate florals in a remarkably clean cup.

Expect a coffee that evolves as it cools, revealing new flavours with every sip.

About This Coffee

This coffee represents the collective effort of over 700 smallholder farmers in Uraga, Guji. Most farmers cultivate just 1.5 to 2 hectares of land, often growing coffee alongside other subsistence crops on family-owned plots.

During harvest, ripe cherries are delivered to the Gogogu washing station, where they are carefully sorted and processed. While individual farm traceability can be challenging in Ethiopia's community-based farming system, the result is a coffee that reflects the dedication and craftsmanship of an entire coffee-growing community.

Process

After harvest, the cherries undergo a Shade Slow Dry Natural process.

Unlike conventional naturals that are dried under direct sunlight, these cherries are dried slowly under shade, allowing moisture to escape more gradually. This extended drying period helps preserve delicate fruit characteristics while developing deeper sweetness and complexity.

The result is a natural coffee that is fruit-forward and expressive, yet clean and well-structured.
