Origin & Producer
This lot comes from the Suke Quto farm, founded by Tesfaye Bekele, a visionary conservationist and coffee farmer. After devastating bushfires in Guji, Tesfaye reforested the land with native trees and coffee plants — building a regenerative model where shade trees, leaf litter, pruning waste, and pulp are recycled into mulch to nurture the soil.
The farm spans 221 hectares, and Tesfaye also works with ~170–287 outgrower farmers in the region, practicing circular, sustainable agriculture.
At the washing station, cherries are depulped using an Agaro pulper, fermented for 35–48 hours, then dried gently on raised beds for 9–15 days, depending on weather conditions.
Suke Quto is not just about producing exceptional coffee — it’s deeply rooted in community development. Tesfaye has helped build schools in the region, and supports local farmers through his cooperative model.
