Origin
From the lush slopes of Normandia, Pitalito, Huila, this microlot showcases the rare Caturra Chiroso variety grown at 1,800 masl. The cool Andean climate and fertile volcanic soils yield coffees of remarkable sweetness and clarity.
This lot underwent an intricate Thermal Shock Process — a multi-stage fermentation that involves oxidation, yeast-driven anaerobic fermentation, and precise temperature control — unlocking candy-like aromatics and an exceptionally silky texture. Expect a cup that’s delightfully playful yet refined, bursting with lychee candy, bubblegum sweetness, and a smooth, creamy body.
Producer / Farm Info
Produced by Néstor Lasso of Finca El Diviso, a third-generation coffee grower in Huila. The 18-hectare farm cultivates around 15 ha of coffee and 2 ha of forest, with more than 80,000 trees thriving between 1,700–1,850 masl.
El Diviso is known for pioneering advanced fermentation techniques — from oxidation with leachates to thermal-shock washing and yeast inoculation — to bring out layered, fruit-driven profiles.
Néstor and his family continue the legacy started by their grandfather, José Uribe, combining tradition with science to produce some of Colombia’s most exciting experimental coffees.
Why You’ll Like It
This is not your everyday Colombian coffee — it’s a microlot crafted with precision and passion. The result is a cup that’s sweet, silky, and complex, with tropical fruit candy notes that linger beautifully.
Perfect for filter brewing, this coffee celebrates innovation while staying true to the vibrant, clean sweetness that makes Huila famous. If you enjoy expressive, modern Colombian profiles — this one’s a must-try.
Tasting Notes
A playful yet elegant cup that opens with lychee candy sweetness and bubblegum aromatics, carried by a silky, velvety body.
As it cools, layers of tropical fruit and florals emerge — bright, juicy, and clean — leaving a lingering sweetness that feels almost dessert-like.
Balanced and expressive, this microlot captures the essence of El Diviso’s signature thermal-shock process: vivid, sweet, and irresistibly smooth.
