Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Bogale Mengistu Wadera Natural G1
🌱 Origin & Producer
From the lush hills of the Yirgacheffe region in southern Ethiopia, this micro-lot is grown by farmer Bogale Mengistu Wadera at elevations around 2,000 metres above sea level. The cool nights and sun-rich days ensure slow cherry maturation, allowing the beans to develop deep layers of fruit sweetness and refined acidity. Harvested by hand in his small-holder plots of heirloom varietals, this coffee is a testament to the land’s storied history of specialty coffee cultivation.
🧪 Processing
This lot is processed as a Natural (G1) — whole cherries are dried on raised beds under full sun, allowing the fruit pulp and skin to remain in contact with the bean throughout. This extended drying emphasises fruit integration and body, while still preserving clarity and the delicate origin-character of Yirgacheffe.
