Origin Details

This coffee comes from the Inzovu Washing Station in the Gakenke region of Rwanda, located near the shores of Lake Kivu.

Inzovu means “elephant” in Kinyarwanda, symbolising strength and presence. The washing station works with hundreds of smallholder farmers who cultivate coffee at elevations between 1,600–1,900 masl. The high altitude, fertile volcanic soil, and cool climate allow cherries to mature slowly, contributing to the clarity and balance Rwanda coffees are known for.

Processing follows Rwanda’s classic fully washed method — cherries are hand-sorted, pulped, fermented, thoroughly washed, and slowly dried on raised African beds. This careful processing helps highlight the coffee’s clean and structured flavour profile.

About This Coffee

This coffee was never meant to be a quiet release.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been serving Rwanda Inzovu Plus Peaberry at the bar, letting customers try it before officially launching it. The response was immediate — people kept asking what the coffee was and if they could bring a bag home.

What stood out to us was its balance. There’s a gentle sweetness that reminds us of dried raisins, a light tea-like elegance, and a smooth caramel finish that makes it incredibly comforting as an espresso.

After seeing how much people enjoyed it, we knew this coffee deserved a proper place on the shelf.

Tasting Notes

Dried Raisins · White Tea · Caramel

A gentle fruit sweetness layered with soft tea-like elegance and a smooth caramel finish.

In the Cup

Roasted for espresso, bringing out its natural sweetness while maintaining clarity and balance.

As a black espresso, expect a gentle fruit sweetness reminiscent of dried raisins, followed by a light white tea-like elegance that keeps the cup clean and refined. The finish settles into a smooth caramel sweetness.

With milk-based drinks, the caramel notes become more pronounced, creating a sweet, creamy cup with hints of dried fruit and a soft tea-like brightness that cuts through the milk beautifully.

It’s a profile that feels comforting and approachable, yet still layered enough to keep each sip interesting.
